Taking the Long Way
It’s been called the toughest race in the world, a 1700km long unsupported bike race through Kyrgyzstan with 26,000 meters of climbing over some stunning mountain ranges.
The Silk Road Mountain Race website describes it pretty well:
“It follows gravel, single and double track and old soviet roads that have long been forgotten and fallen into disrepair. There is very little tarmac. There is some walking, and at times there is great distances between resupply points.”
Sounds like an adventure.
The race starts on August 17th 2019 and if you’re not super keen to do the hardest thing you’ve probably ever done then at least press play on the video and watch some other people suffer.
